Environmental regulatory program
A governmental environmental program under which a facility is registered, permitted, tracked, or evaluated; program-specific identifiers remain schema context.
Sources that carry it
63 sourcesEPA's dedicated ACRES (Assessment, Cleanup and Redevelopment Exchange System) Brownfields properties layer, published via the FRS Geospatial Data Download service as the single-program ArcGIS FeatureServer `FRS_INTERESTS_ACRES` (same family as FRS_INTERESTS_AIR). Every record is a Brownfields property assessed or cleaned up with EPA Brownfields grant funding or via an EPA Regional Targeted Brownfields Assessment (PGM_SYS_ACRNM='ACRES', INTEREST_TYPE='BROWNFIELDS PROPERTY' on all rows). Distinct from and fuller than the Brownfields subset already carried by us_epa__cimc_sites, which per EPA's own documentation only includes grant-funded properties visible through the separate Cleanups in My Community tool. Fetched live: 44,235 properties nationwide, within the Integration's predicted 35,000-65,000 band. ds_street fill 99.94%, ds_lat/ds_lon fill 100% -- Fit rating.
Statewide point layer of Massachusetts facilities subject to air source registration, greenhouse-gas reporting, or air operating permit requirements.
EPA's weekly FRS ICIS-Air ArcGIS layer is the current successor feed for legacy AIRS/AFS and covers stationary air-pollution-source facilities across the United States, territories, and tribal areas. The integration queries the complete layer and emits facility identity, program identifiers, air-interest classification and active status, address, EPA region, and NAD83 coordinates. It also adds normalized address and location columns plus an AIRS/AFS membership flag that is true for every row.
South Carolina asbestos abatement and demolition permit archive delivered through public-records request, at latest permit-version grain and spanning 2000–2026.
NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) sites — the BCP slice (program_type=BCP) of NY Open Data's "Environmental Remediation Sites" dataset (Socrata c6ci-rzpg). 1,833 distinct brownfield sites statewide. The raw dataset is denormalized one row per site×operable-unit×contaminant (~67.7k BCP rows); fetch.py aggregates server-side via $group=program_number to one clean row per site. Each site is real property whose redevelopment may be complicated by hazardous waste/petroleum/contaminants — matching Chubb's BROWNFIELDS definition. Carries facility name, address, locality, county, ZIP, WGS84 lat/lon, and owner fields.
South Carolina SARR public records for non-responsible-party voluntary cleanup contracts in the Brownfields program, including amendments and inurements; responsible-party contracts and EPA grant-funded assessments are excluded.
Wisconsin DNR BRRTS bulk facility-activity data for contaminated-property assessment, investigation, cleanup, and redevelopment activities. This source uses the public tab-delimited bulk export and focuses on ERP, LUST, and VPLE activity records; spill and no-action-required records are excluded from the candidate scope.
Statewide BRRTS bulk-export subset of reported leaking underground storage tank activities, open and closed.
NYSDEC 'Bulk Storage Facilities in New York State' open-data dataset (Socrata pteg-c78n) — a tank-level registry spanning Petroleum (PBS), Chemical (CBS), and Major Oil Storage (MOSF) programs — filtered to aboveground tanks (tank_location begins 'Aboveground') that are In Service. 60,760 registered aboveground tanks across 29,953 facilities. Tank grain (one row per tank); coordinates from the georeference WGS84 point. Single-attribute source (ds_AST always true).
NYSDEC 'Bulk Storage Facilities in New York State' open-data dataset (Socrata pteg-c78n), filtered to closed/historical aboveground petroleum storage tanks (tank_status in 'Closed - Removed', 'Closed - In Place', 'Closed Prior to 03/1991'; program_type='PBS' to exclude Chemical Bulk Storage contamination -- 5,999 CBS rows found in a live pre-filter check; tank_location starting 'Aboveground', matching the current-AST sibling's discriminator). Tank-level grain (one row per tank); 43,732 rows after deduplicating 18 genuine upstream duplicate keys on the program_number+tank_number composite. Sibling to the Verified ny_dec__bulk_storage_aboveground_tanks (current AST) source and the Sourced ny_dec__bulk_storage_underground_tanks_historical (HIST_UST) source -- same dataset, complementary tank_status/tank_location filters. Single-attribute source (ds_HIST_AST always true).
NY DEC's Bulk Storage Facilities dataset (Socrata pteg-c78n), filtered to In Service tanks with an underground tank_location (including the literal 10%-below-grade regulatory threshold). Sibling to the Verified ny_dec__bulk_storage_aboveground_tanks source (same dataset, complementary tank_location filter). 20,690 rows — below the predicted band (24,000-56,000) but consistent with the AST sibling's real ~75/25 AST/UST split vs. the Tier-C prediction's assumed 50/50 split.
NY DEC's Bulk Storage Facilities dataset (Socrata pteg-c78n), filtered to closed/historical tanks (tank_status in 'Closed - Removed', 'Closed - In Place', 'Closed Prior to 03/1991') with an underground tank_location (including the literal 10%-below-grade regulatory threshold), restricted to program_type='PBS' (petroleum) — a live check found 593 Chemical Bulk Storage (CBS) rows in the unfiltered underground+closed slice that had to be excluded to match the Customer's petroleum-storage-capacity scope. Sibling to the Verified ny_dec__bulk_storage_underground_tanks source: same dataset and tank_location discriminator, complementary tank_status filter (In Service vs. closed/historical). 103,300 rows after deduplicating 6 genuine upstream duplicate rows on the program_number+tank_number composite key.

EPA's TSCA Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) Manufacture-Import Information file (2024 reporting cycle) — site-level records of manufacturers and importers of chemicals on the TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory, including production volume, site NAICS/industry classification, and site address/coordinates per plant site. Published every four years as a non-confidential (non-CBI) CSV extract from EPA's Access CDR Data portal. Approximately 14% of rows have the entire site identity (name, address, coordinates) redacted under a Confidential Business Information (CBI) claim; the chemical/production-volume data for those rows is still present.
Statewide CIWQS flat-file export of California NPDES permits, including permit identifiers, regulatory status and type, facility and discharger identities, program and order details, dates, and addresses. This import candidate scopes the export to active individually designated NPDES permits, Enrollee - NPDES records, and co-permittees, excluding blanket general-permit Enrollee rows.
TCEQ Complaints — the named Texas Open Data (Socrata) dataset tdzs-qqjn (complaints received by TCEQ, tracked in the Consolidated Compliance and Enforcement Data System / CCEDS, keyed by complaint tracking number incid_track_num). 241,322 rows, full history. No street/city/state/ZIP/lat/lon fields exist in this dataset (only county and TCEQ region); ds_ address/location columns are all 0% fill, accepted by the developer since the COMPLAINTS attribute doesn't require location. ds_COMPLAINTS = true for every row.
ADEQ's statewide ArcGIS layer of recorded Declaration of Environmental Use Restriction and Voluntary Environmental Mitigation Use Restriction sites, including institutional or engineering controls and site locations.
EPA ECHO public national facility-level compliance and enforcement data delivered through live REST services, generated query CSVs, the ECHO Exporter full ZIP, and coordinated national download dictionaries. Covers CAA, CWA/NPDES, RCRA, SDWA, and federal enforcement records; this bounded Source excludes TRI release quantities and other emissions inventories.
New York remediation sites with engineering controls in place. From NYSDEC 'Environmental Remediation Sites' (data.ny.gov Socrata c6ci-rzpg, denormalized across BCP/VCP/ERP/HW/RCRA). Filtered to control_code='Environmental Easement' OR control_type='ENG' = 853 distinct sites (deduped to program_number). Site name, address, coordinates. Single-attribute: ENG_CONTROLS. Pure institutional-control sites (deed restriction/notice only) excluded — they belong to the separate AUL attribute.
New York State DEC Environmental Remediation Sites dataset published on the NY Open Data portal via the Socrata SODA API. Filtered to program_type='HW' (State Superfund / Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites), this Source provides site name, address, county, municipality, site classification, and program status for all HW-program sites statewide. Coordinates are included for the majority of sites. Fetched as paginated JSON and conformed to the ds_ scheme with ds_HWS presence boolean.
FDEP's 'ERIC PFAS Sites' layer -- a pre-filtered cross-program extract of FDEP's master contaminated-site database (ERIC), scoped to sites where PFAS is the identified contaminant of concern, carrying a Rule 62-780 F.A.C. contamination classification field. 253 statewide sites across 7 FDEP cleanup programs. Note: the prediction was based on well/surface-water sampling-point populations, a different dataset type than this site-cleanup inventory; developer reviewed and accepted the resulting undercount.
EPA's Federal Agency Hazardous Waste Compliance Docket is a quarterly public master list of federal facilities that manage or have managed hazardous waste, or where hazardous substances have been released. The FEDFacts Qlik Engine API emits one row per docket facility with EPA identifier, facility and agency identity, location, reporting mechanism, docket status, NPL/non-NPL cleanup classifications, and date added. The integrated conformed output also emits standardized address columns and a FEDERAL_FACILITY flag for all 2,392 records.
Pennsylvania DEP's public Hazardous Site Response Actions List is an annually refreshed SSRS CSV report derived from eFACTS and covering hazardous-site response work since 1988. The integrated product filters the report to HSCA initiations and emits 1,554 response-action × environmental-medium × substance rows across about 489 sites. It preserves facility identity, owner/operator, address, coordinates, Pennsylvania Priority List dates, response actions, media, and contaminant columns, while prepending normalized location fields and an HSCA indicator.
EPA ICIS-NPDES facility data via the public ECHO CWA REST API, filtered per-state (fetch.py loops over a STATES list: AK, CT). Both AK DEC and CT DEEP report permit actions into this federal system under their delegated APDES/NPDES primacy, and neither state publishes a comparably complete NPDES permit list on its own site. Same endpoint generalizes to additional states by appending to STATES.
Indiana IDEM hosted inventory of waste disposal, storage, and handling sites, used for the pre-verified landfill universe through the Land Disposal program classification.
Statewide NC DEQ Inactive Hazardous Sites Branch inventory of sites tracked under the state hazardous-waste cleanup program that are not on the federal National Priorities List, published through an ArcGIS FeatureServer.

Florida Institutional Controls Registry (ICR) — contaminated sites subject to institutional controls (recorded deed restrictions/covenants/use restrictions) under Ch. 62-780 F.A.C. FDEP DWM ICR polygon layer 12; 2,628 sites with site name, address, and control-boundary centroid coordinates. INST_CONTROL is the registry's primary attribute (every ICR site has an institutional control). Single-attribute source. NOTE: same ICR layer 12 as fl_dep__institutional_controls_registry (#266/ENG_CONTROLS) — kept separate per attribute by dev decision.
New York environmental-remediation sites whose NYSDEC control_type is INST, including institutional controls such as environmental easements, deed restrictions, decision documents, and environmental notices.
Recorded Indiana environmental restrictive covenants and deed notices represented as polygons.
Florida Institutional Controls Registry (ICR) — FDEP Division of Waste Management registry of contaminated sites with institutional and/or engineering controls (Ch. 62-780 F.A.C.). Polygon layer 12 on the FDEP Geospatial Open Data MapServer; 2,628 sites with site name, address, and control-boundary centroid coordinates. Serves ENG_CONTROLS: FDEP publishes no standalone engineering-controls dataset, and in FL an engineering control requires a recorded institutional control, so EC sites are a subset of the ICR (the EC subset is not separately flagged in the public data — full ICR shipped).

Hazardous-waste and state cleanup sites selected from MDE’s Land Restoration Program layer.
NY DEC's shared Environmental Remediation Sites Socrata dataset (c6ci-rzpg), filtered via a facility-name substring heuristic (MGP/MANUFACTURED GAS/GAS WORKS/GAS LIGHT) since DEC publishes no dedicated MGP dataset or program_type flag. 225 program-enrollment rows (HW 140/VCP 64/BCP 20/ERP 1) across 186 distinct physical MGP sites statewide; the raw undeduplicated count was chosen over the site-deduplicated count to avoid inventing a cross-program dedup key DEC doesn't provide.
Brownfield-flagged sites from MDE’s Land Restoration Program sites layer.
NYSDEC Bulk Storage Facilities dataset (pteg-c78n), filtered to program_type='PBS'. Full unfiltered tank inventory, all statuses, all locations. One row per registered tank (or per facility when no discrete tank is registered). Deliberately independent of the 4 already-Verified ny_dec sources built on the same dataset (bulk_storage_aboveground_tanks, ..._aboveground_tanks_historical, ..._underground_storage_tanks, ..._underground_storage_tanks_historical) — those cover ~228,516 of ~254,502 PBS rows via status/location filters; this Source accepts the overlap rather than reopening Customer-signed-off deliverables. Pattern for TANKS going forward: full inventory, independent of any AST/UST split per locale.
EPA PFAS Analytic Tools 'Industry Sectors' layer (PAT_Industry_Sectors, layer 3 of the public PFAS_Analytic_Tools_Layers ArcGIS FeatureServer) -- facilities with federal CAA/CWA/RCRA permits operating in industry sectors that literature review indicates may handle or release PFAS, per EPA's ECHO methodology. This is the live feed backing the interactive PFAS Analytic Tools dashboard's Industry Sectors tab. 714 facilities as of 2026-08-12, dominated by Part 139 airports (536) plus smaller NAICS/SIC-driven categories (waste management, chemical manufacturing, printing, metal coating, etc.). Note: this live layer is significantly narrower than the ~120,000-facility figure cited in EPA's marketing description of the tab's methodology -- see the Source .md for full reconciliation.
EPA's PFAS Analytic Tools Superfund layer identifies National Priorities List sites with reported PFAS detections. The integrated product filters the ArcGIS layer to NPL_Site=Yes and emits 464 site records with EPA identifiers, names, addresses, coordinates, NPL status, site type, program context, and profile links. It preserves the 18 fetched ArcGIS attributes and adds seven normalized location and PFAS indicator columns.
EPA's nationwide CORRACTS extract identifies facilities subject to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act corrective-action authority under sections 3004(u) and 3004(v). The primary CIMC extract emits facility identifiers and names plus EPA region, state, county, city, and ZIP code; the integrated CSV adds normalized address columns, enriched coordinates, and a CORRACTS indicator while preserving the source columns. The pre-verified integrated file contains 3,973 facility records and is released quarterly.
Refuse-disposal permit records from MDE’s Solid Waste Program permits dataset.

The candidate covers active and inactive or closed facilities and provides facility identity, address, interaction classification and point location.
GIS inventory of Indiana State Cleanup program hazardous-substance sites.
Texas state Superfund (SF) sites — TCEQ-administered hazardous-substance sites addressed with state funds or via PRPs (the state CERCLIS-equivalent HWS universe per the Chubb Description). TCEQ public 'Superfund' MapServer layer 0 (REM_PROG uniformly 'Superfund (SF)'), the same reachable TCEQ ArcGIS host as the Verified tx_tceq__brownfields. 168 sites, fetched 2026-06-22. Coordinate-rich (100% lat/lon) but address-sparse (48.8% street — many are groundwater/area sites); rated Fit on coordinates per the better-of rule.
Florida DEP State and Tribal Response Program (SRP) sites — 88 sites (closed + active), sourced as FL's voluntary-cleanup (VCP) inventory. FL has no standalone Voluntary Cleanup Program dataset; its voluntary-cleanup construct is the VCTC tax credit (drycleaner + brownfield sites, sourced separately; no public VCTC site list), so the closest formal FL bucket — the EPA CERCLA §128(a) State & Tribal Response Program — is used. Fetched from FDEP's ERIC Waste Cleanup layer (CLEANUP_SP/MapServer/8) filtered server-side to PROGRAM_TYPE='SRP'. Coords from point geometry (signed WGS84), NOT the unsigned DMS columns. ds_street 94.3% / ds_city 100% / ds_lat-lon 100% → Fit.
EPA's quarterly Facility Registry Service Interests download exposes the SEMS layer as an ESRI file geodatabase containing active, non-archived Superfund sites nationwide. The integrated product emits normalized address and NAD83 coordinate columns, a SEMS indicator, and the underlying facility identity, location, NPL status, federal ownership, EPA region, and program-interest metadata. It can be consumed as a complete bulk layer or queried through the documented ArcGIS FeatureServer fallback.

State-native (provider tx_tceq, no divergence); same host/pattern as tx_tceq__brownfields / tx_tceq__state_superfund. Single-attribute (VCP). Coordinate-rich: ds_lat/lon 100% (LAT_DD/LONG_DD, TX range); ds_city 100%, ds_state=TX constant, ds_street 81.8% (PHYS_ADDR), ds_zip 81.7% -> Fit. Matches TCEQ's published ~3,300 cumulative VCP roster.
NYSDEC Voluntary Cleanup Program sites selected from the statewide Environmental Remediation Sites dataset using program_type VCP, with site identity, address, coordinates, status, operable-unit, contaminant, and control context.
NC voluntary-cleanup sites — the NC DEQ Inactive Hazardous Sites Branch (IHSB) 'Inactive Hazardous Sites' layer on NC OneMap (services2.arcgis.com/kCu40SDxsCGcuUWO), filtered server-side to the authoritative Vol_Cleanu='TRUE' (Voluntary Cleanup) flag = 164 sites (of 2,077 total). These are the 'Responsible Party Voluntary Action' sites the VCP attribute calls for. conform.py: ds_street from SITEADDR, ds_city from SITECITY, ds_state constant 'NC' (no state col, no ZIP); ds_lat/lon from LATITUDE/LONGITUDE. ds_street 100% and ds_lat/lon 100% (Fit).
