River stage and discharge during the event
What river stage and discharge were measured at gauges at or near the event location and time?
The data that answers it
Ranked by fit · best firstUSGS Water Data APIs provide standing public continuous and daily gauge measurements keyed to stable monitoring-location and time-series identifiers. Parameter 00060 is discharge in cubic feet per second and 00065 is gage height in feet; records carry observation time or date, value, unit, statistic, approval status, qualifier, and last-modified time, while monitoring-location metadata and GeoJSON geometry pin the gauge. Point-gauge measurements do not establish flood occurrence, inundation extent, parcel depth, or conditions away from the gauge.
The public NWPS API lets a buyer list gauges by bounding box or select a gauge by NWS LID or USGS ID and returns observed stage and flow time-series values with units and valid times. Gauge responses also expose coordinates, observed flood category, and configured action, minor, moderate, and major thresholds; only the observed series is asserted here. Forecast values are excluded, and gauge category or threshold status is point context rather than inundation extent, parcel depth, or proof away from the gauge.
