Case Study: Distribution Intelligence at Scale — Datastruct × Acxiom
How we helped a Tier 1 P&C insurance carrier turn stale distribution data into real-time lead enrichment and continuous book monitoring, at a peak of 20 million API transactions a month.
When a Tier 1 P&C insurance carrier’s book started growing faster than their ability to keep its data current, their distribution teams were reaching out with stale information — and losing ground. This is how a five-year partnership between Datastruct and Acxiom turned that around, delivering real-time lead enrichment and continuous book monitoring at a peak of 20 million API transactions a month.
The Challenge
Distribution teams depend on current, high-quality data to reach the right customer at the right moment. But the carrier’s book was growing faster than they could maintain visibility into it, and data staleness had become a competitive disadvantage — leads were worked from outdated records, and renewal and cross-sell opportunities slipped by unnoticed.
The carrier needed data that was not just accurate at a point in time, but continuously refreshed, and delivered into the systems their teams already used without adding manual data-quality work.
The Solution
Working with Acxiom as the upstream data partner, we built two integrated solutions on the Datastruct platform, layering Acxiom’s data through our validation and transformation layer before delivering it to Salesforce, batch systems, and campaign feeds.
Real-time lead intelligence. Every new entry in the carrier’s Salesforce CRM is enriched before the first point of contact, delivering more than 500 attributes — firmographic data, household demographics, property details, financial indicators, and predictive scores — so teams know who they are contacting, and why, before they reach out.
Continuous book monitoring. The full customer book refreshes on a rolling cycle, processing 3–6 million records a week through validation and business logic tailored to renewal, cross-sell, and up-sell strategies. Crucially, the enrichment payload includes life-event triggers and renewal-timing signals — indicators not just of customer identity, but of the optimal window to make contact.
The Results
After five-plus years in production, the partnership has delivered results at a scale few integrations reach.
At scale:
- 1.2B+ API enrichments delivered.
- 1B+ book records continuously monitored.
- Peak volumes of 20 million API transactions a month.
In day-to-day operations:
- Zero leads requiring manual data-quality triage.
- Automated qualification that eliminates blank-form processing.
- Distribution teams working from current data, with outreach timed to real life events and renewal windows.
What began as a fix for data staleness became a durable distribution advantage. The carrier’s teams shifted from chasing outdated records to acting on continuously refreshed, decision-ready intelligence — reaching the right customer, at the right moment, with the context to make the conversation count.
