Federal environmental regulation indicator
Whether a facility, tank, or regulated activity is subject to federal environmental regulation.
Sources that carry it
2 sourcesVA DEQ EDMA ArcGIS layer 104, "Petroleum Releases (Daily)" — one row per release case (combined UST+AST), keyed on composite (RST_ID, PCNUM). Full historical archive since program inception (98.4% Closed cases). Distinct from the sibling va_deq registration sources (registered_ust_facilities/registered_ast_facilities are tank registrations, not releases) and from the general spill dataset (va_deq__prep_pollution_reports).
VA DEQ's Registered Petroleum Tank Facilities EDMA layer, filtered to FAC_ACTIVE_UST>0 AND FAC_RISK_RANK IS NOT NULL (5,630 facility rows) — mirrors the filter used by the Verified sibling va_deq__registered_ast_facilities exactly. Facility grain, not tank grain: this Integration's prediction (17,500±25%) was tank-scoped, but VA DEQ publishes no public tank-level feed. Sum of FAC_ACTIVE_UST across all facilities (17,659) confirms this is the correct dataset despite the facility/tank granularity mismatch.
